Myrtle Grove Facebook and Twitter Pages Created

About a month ago, we created a Myrtle Grove Facebook Page www.facebook.com/myrtlegrove to help Facebook members keep up with MG happenings.

This also enables us to publish photos (click here to see MG photos) www.facebook.com/myrtlegrove?v=photos and videos.

This improvement increased traffic to the MG home page http://www.myrtlegrove.org/ from 37 to 49 hits per day in the first week alone.

We also created a Twitter page www.twitter.com/myrtlegrovepres that is linked to our Facebook page. Whenever we post on Facebook, it shows up on Twitter as well.

On April 1, we published our quarterly Spring e-newsletter with more graphics than ever and some great articles written by staff and others. Click the link here to take a look.

During the past three to four weeks, our weekly e-newsletter has included many links back to articles in the MG church website http://www.myrtlegrove.org/ in an attempt to drive more people to the website for information.  One of the results is that 84 people used our online registration forms: Boundaries Class (7); Classified Ads (2); Financial Peace University Class (17); Men’s Retreat (6); New Member Class (9); Passover Seder (30); Summer Power Camp (1); Prayer Requests (4); Women’s Retreat (8).

We added a new Classifieds Ads section to MG Website (www.myrtlegrove.org/classified).

We are currently involved in a process called Web Optimization to improve our placement on Google Search pages. We want to appear on page 1 of any search and the higher the better on that page to make it easier for people to find us on the web. The process involves including a number of keywords in all of our articles so that the search engines can find them easily. For example, an article about the children's ministry should use the words children several times to move it up the page.

Finally, we have shifted from using inserts in our Sunday (print) bulletin to a "booklet" style bulletin which can be assembled and stapled completely by the printer/copier.
